Planning calculators, sharper risk profiles, and vault folder naming

1.8.7·

Three planning calculators are now available from the Snapshots header, covering education savings, retirement drawdown, and charitable giving, each ending in a client-ready report. Tax is modelled for every province and territory except Quebec.

The KYC risk questions are rewritten to read plainly, and their allocation limits now apply as cumulative ranges rather than band by band. People with a recorded date of death no longer appear when you choose who a document or capture is for. Vault folder names are unique within a client's vault rather than across the whole practice, so two clients can each have a folder with the same name. The rest is correctness work across Wealth Path, Portfolio Shift, Securities, and Model Portfolios.

New Features

  • Change Notes on model portfolio versions. You can record why you changed a model portfolio when you save it, and see that reason in Version History.
  • Planning calculators in Snapshots. Three calculators now read the household you already entered: education savings, retirement drawdown, and charitable giving, each ending in a client-ready report.

Fixes

  • Portfolio Shift lanes stay in their columns. The two Portfolio Shift lanes no longer overlap each other when the workspace gets narrow.
  • Reason to Own when you add a security. You can now record why you own a security while you are adding it, instead of saving first and going back in.
  • Deceased people leave the participant lists. People with a recorded date of death are no longer offered when you choose who a document or capture is for.
  • Clearer KYC risk questions and more accurate profiles. The KYC Risk Profile questions are rewritten to read plainly, the allocation slider no longer has a dead spot, and allocation limits apply correctly.
  • Folder names are per client, not per practice. Two clients can now each have a folder with the same name, because folder names are unique within a client's vault rather than across your whole practice.
  • Readable account labels and correct chart colours. Account cards show readable names instead of internal ids, charts pick up the right colours when you follow your system theme, and projections open in future dollars.
